What if your Navy SEAL uncle could help you defend yourself from your bullies?
That’s the main conceit of Apple Original Films’ upcoming movie Way of the Warrior Kid, starring Chris Pratt. The project is based off of former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink’s best-selling novel of the same name and is directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation). But there’s more to know about the movie where that came from. From cast to release date, here’s what you need to know about Way of the Warrior Kid.
What’s Way of the Warrior Kid about?
Way of the Warrior Kid focuses on struggling middle schooler Marc (Jude Hill), whose classmates bully him relentlessly. When his Navy SEAL uncle Jake (Pratt) comes to spend the summer with him and his mom Sarah (Linda Cardellini), Marc will get a chance to learn how to defend himself.
To help his nephew, Jake puts together “Operation Warrior Kid.” Based on Jake’s own military training, his program is less about teaching Marc to fight, and more about teaching him to embrace true courage. Along the way, Jake will wrestle with demons of his own, as both he and Marc discover their own bravery.
